Mahatma Gandhi said, “Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in complete harmony.” Winning Choices’ Vision is that in helping to make this simple yet profound ideal a prevailing reality for each of us, we inspire and empower ourselves to discover our own “inner hero,” enabling each of us to be more enlightened, educated, self aware, socially conscious, successful human beings; whether as parents, or professionals, leaders or laborers, entrepreneurs or students, in harmony and “one-with” the world we share; where we individually and collectively, contribute and commit to creating a safer, stronger, successful, non-exploitive, gentler future, a future in which our children and all this world’s creatures may survive and thrive ”one with” our extraordinary earth.
To accomplish our “Winning Choices” vision, our objective is to inspire, instruct, energize and empower people in every and all walks of life, to discover, activate, nurture and own the unique capacity for survival, service, success and well being that exists just under the surface in all human beings, enabling us to access and unleash the powerful and dynamic spirit within, our individually unique “Spirit DNA” by providing the concepts, strategies and tools necessary to attain our highest aspirations and to live the dreams most consistent with our own personal value system, our “authentic self”.
Winning Choices recognizes and supports the magnificent ethic that all that exists on earth is highly connected, integrated and of value. By empowering ourselves to capture the reflections of our own inner being and personal vision and by designing and directing our lives to be in harmony with these visions and values, we position ourselves to recognize and make the winning choices on our path to personal fulfillment, prosperity and purpose. With “Winning Choices”, we enhance our desire, ability and commitment to maximize our own human potential, while encouraging and enabling ourselves to be meaningful contributors to the survival and success of our families, our community, our society, our world and all life that surrounds us.
In the unique makeup of every human being, there is a strength, a force, a power, an energy, a mighty spirit ; a hero waiting to be uncovered, waiting to be called upon, yearning for a mission and poised for action. “Winning Choices” is committed to the challenge of aiding and empowering individuals to discover, embrace and nurture the “hero within” themselves, the “hero within” us all. We live in an age when the term “hero” tends to be loosely applied and many of those whom we mistakenly deem heroes often have feet of clay.
In many ways, our society has blurred, often cheapened the term “hero” and the concept of heroism, confusing it’s meaning with material acquisition and\ or notoriety, demeaning it’s applicability to our lives and capacity to inspire us. Dictionaries define a hero as “a person of distinguished valor or fortitude in suffering, a prominent or central personage in any remarkable event or action, hence a great or illustrious person and, one admired for achievements or noble qualities or one that shows great courage”. Text book accurate, of course, but at “Winning Choices” we believe there is more to a true hero and more ways to be a hero than the “book value”.
Our “hero within” is eager to be a being of passion and purpose compassion and goodness, responsibility and accountability. Our “hero within” has the capability of focus, dynamic action, remarkable achievement, success and incredible happiness. Our “hero within” has the ability to realize and act on our innermost dreams and visions, maximize our unique human potential while earning the respect and admiration of others. Our “hero within” has the enormous potential to make a meaningful contribution to our world and the world of future generation by recognizing the obligation and embracing the opportunity that we are the stewards of our planet, responsible and accountable for its survival. Accessing our “hero within” does not happen by chance. “Winning Choices” is dedicated to increasing our awareness that life is a continuous, connected sequence of critical choices and decisions and that we must have a strategy, a design, a mission, a vision for our lives.
Our “Winning Choices” Vision finds an articulate voice in a Native American, Lakota prayer; “Oh Great Spirit, Oh Mother Earth, whose voice I hear in the winds, and whose breath gives life to all the world - hear me – I come before you, one of your children. Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset. Make my hands respect the things you have made, my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise, so I may know the things you have taught my people, the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock. I seek strength not to be superior to my brothers, but to be able to understand and know myself. Make me ever ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes, so when life fades as a fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame”. Lakota Leader\ Elder
We must have a personal life plan, a vision that enables us to cast off self-imposed limitations, replace lack of dedication with purpose, and position ourselves to make the “winning choices” that life presents to us, choices that while contributing to our success and happiness, do not exploit, weaken or violate others, but celebrate and strengthen ourselves, our families, our communities, our environment and all sentient beings of this unique and precious world we share.
